Clarington Animal Services found a stray Pitbull Terrier mix near Concession road 10 and Mosport Road, north of in Bowmanville, on October 3.

They say the dog was extremely emaciated and although it was taken to a vet in Newcastle, the dog died several days later due to health conditions.

Someone found a female black and white Pitbull Terrier Mix in poor health around midnight October 13 near Concession Road 9 and Enfield Road.

The dog was taken to a vet and is now recovering.

Police are working with the Provincial Animal Welfare Services and they’re investigating to try and find the owners of the dogs.

They also want to talk to anyone who may have more information.

Police say they are being treated as separate cases, although there seem to be some similarities.
